The Land of the Pure: Kindness in Pakistan

Pakistan literally means "Land of the Pure." After my recent trip there, I can tell you that name is true.

I was there for work, doing things with agriculture, but I made sure to take some time off to see the country. I was completely surprised by how welcoming and kind the local people were. You don't hear about that enough.

Pakistan is famous for its beautiful mountains and nature, which are amazing. But the best part for me was the culture and the kindness of the people.

The Kindest People

My trip involved visiting local farms and factories where skilled workers build and fix farm machines. But I made sure to spend time with the local people and see their daily lives.

One night, I visited the Lahore train station. I love train stations because you can see so much life, people coming and going with all their needs.

The next night, I saw the beautiful Lahore Fort and the Badshahi Mosque. They are full of history and amazing architecture, and they're a UNESCO site. Going inside the Mosque was a special time. Mosques are great places to learn about the culture. Everyone is treated the same there, whether they are praying or just visiting. Later in Islamabad, I went to the modern Faisal Mosque, which had the same calm feeling.

When I travel, I love taking portraits—pictures of people. They show their lives, their hard work, and their happiness.

I always ask people if I can take their picture. If I do take one, I try to share it with them later. This shows them respect, which is very important.

We must respect local culture, even if it’s totally new to us. We should never think one culture is better than another; they are just different. Respect is the key to talking to anyone, even with a camera. I was even lucky enough to get a picture of women in their traditional clothing, which doesn't happen often.

I also spent time with workers who build farm machines with very simple tools. It felt like going back in time! They can make any kind of machine needed for local farming.

Pakistan is a beautiful country. People don't visit it much because of old, wrong ideas and history. But it can give you so many great feelings because of its wonderful people and places.
